"Being at the edge of an ocean is unlike anything else. It is a shared human experience that transcends culture and time. The rhythm of the tides, repetition of the waves, smell of the salt and the sound of the water; it all resonates deeply within us.
I shot BREAKING over 16 months on both the East and West coasts, working to capture the primal allure of the ocean. The breaking of a wave creates the sounds, smells and rhythms that we are drawn to. Waves have been breaking for millennia and yet no two ever break the same way."
Conor lives in Bushwick. His prints are large scale gelatin silver prints (up to 40”x60”) made in limited editions of 10 or 20. His favorite place to shoot waves is Jones Beach State Park.
